USO, A Military Support Organization, Was Roasted On Social Media Over Pride Post

USO, one of America's largest military support organizations, took to social media to recognize Pride Month but then got roasted on Instagram.

Post

The USO (United Service Organizations) aims to support and show appreciation to the men and women who serve in the United States military. The USO seeks to boost the troops' and their families' morale and well-being. It provides various services and programs, such as entertainment shows, care packages, and recreational activities, to bring a touch of home to military personnel stationed away from their loved ones.

They also offer support during deployments, helping military families stay connected through communication services and helping service members transition back to civilian life. The USO exists to thank and support our servicemen and women by creating a sense of community, offering a helping hand, and showing them that their sacrifices are appreciated.

The USO also wanted to extend its support beyond the military community to recognize June as Pride Month. The USO likely believed it would be harmless and fitting with the times.

And if that's the case, they were very wrong.

Hundreds of Instagram users voiced their displeasure over the post. And they had a good reason for the resentment. June is also PTSD Awareness Month, but it was not mentioned.

To put everything into perspective, USO's previous three Instagram posts garnered a total of 17 comments. Their post celebrating Pride Month garnered 198 comments: a large majority of them critical of the post.

@wnc_tar_heel wrote: "So the pride people get a one month celebration but our fallen warriors get a day?"

@decor_design_tileliquidators wrote: "Very disappointed…. I'm a USO supporter, my son is active duty and my dad is a disabled Vietnam vet. The only pride flag should be U.S."

@thestephanuedavi wrote: "Why are we 'celebrating' sexuality? What is inherently worthy of 'celebration' about someone's sexual preferences? And why is it the mission of the USO to single out service members by the sexual preferences? Serve everyone equally. Single out no one."

And @highpro85 simply wrote: "Unfollow."

The critical comments go on and on. USO has not posted anything since, and it is uncertain at this time if their lack of follow-up social media posts is related to the heavy criticism they received.

Alternatives

If you are concerned that the USO has gone woke, consider these other nonprofit alternatives supporting the military and veteran community. These recommended organizations have not posted anything on their social media regarding recognizing Pride Month.

Navy SEAL Foundation

The mission of the Navy SEAL Foundation is to provide critical support for the warriors, veterans, and families of Naval Special Warfare.

Navy SEALs undergo some of the world's most intense training regimes. They often find themselves in complex combat situations and sometimes leave their members with the emotional scars of combat.

The foundation is focused on helping people. There is no mention of Pride Month or anything similar, and we are confident that the Navy SEAL Foundation will not go woke.

All Secure Foundation

Founded by a retired Delta Force Command Sergeant Major and his wife, the All Secure Foundation aims to help veterans AND their families. Part of their goal is to help family members understand what struggles the veteran is experiencing.

By including the entire family in the process, everyone plays a part in the recovery of the veteran from mental health challenges.

Their focus is 100% geared toward helping veterans and their families. You do not see any mention on their social media accounts about Pride Month or other similar woke statements.

Wounded Warrior Project

The WWP mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Pride Month is not mentioned anywhere on their website and social media accounts. Instead, their social media accounts cover mental health awareness, veteran-related news updates, empowering messages, etc. And nothing woke.

In fact, their website homepage starts with June is PTSD Awareness Month.

These are just three of many nonprofits that serve the military and veteran community without any hint of wokeness.

As we continue to cover organizations and any political affiliations, we will provide you with alternatives so you can affiliate with like-minded organizations. All part of helping you to "align your dollars with your beliefs."
